Born in Anthon, Iowa, on June 29,1932, son of Charles F. and Joanna Tyrrell. Attended Spencer grade schools. Graduated from Spencer High School, 1950. Involved in Korean War for three years; member, 511th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. Insurance business since 1956. Married Diane Graf of Spencer, 1955. Three sons and four daughters. Past mayor of North English. Member: St. Joseph Catholic Church, Independent Agents of Iowa and Iowa County, Rotary, and NRA. Second term. Presently serving as vice chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, and serves as a member of Agriculture, Cities and Natural Resources committees.
