B.A. magna cum laude with departmental honors in political science, Macalester College, 1970. M.A. (1972) and Ph.D. (1978) in political science, Stanford University. NIMH Fellow, 1972-73. AoA Dissertation grant, 1977. Director of Legislative Affairs for the Human Resources Association of Iowa, 1976-77. Member IWPC, HRAI, CED, MAFA, Citizens Advisory Board of CARG, ISU Credit Union, NOW, and MHAI. First term.
