Fort Dodge District 46 Democrat Born April 22, 1941, in Webster County, son of Cliff and Virginia Fitzgerald. Wife, Shari. Son, James. Daughter, Molly. Small businessman. Graduated from St. Edmonds High School, Fort Dodge, 1959. A.A., Iowa Central Community College; B.S., Iowa State University, 1964; Masters and additional graduate work in political science, University of Missouri. Served in Peace Corps in Bolivia, 1964-1966. Worked for Congressman Walter Fauntroy and Congressman John Culver. Acted as campaign organizer in a number of campaigns at local, congressional, state and presidential level. Elected Majority Floor Leader, 1974 and 1976. Third term.
