Rockford District 13 Democrat Born March 24, 1929, at Rockford, son of Floyd K. and Ella M. Howell. Graduated 1947 Mason City High School. Married Joyce Elaine Stiles, 1950. Three children: Barbara, Steven, David. Served Army Corps of Engineers during Korean Conflict. Self-employed farmer since 1954. Served as precinct-committeeman and county chairman. 4-H leader 10 years. Member: American Legion, Common Cause, Iowa Society Sons of the American Revolution, Floyd County Historical Society, Cedar Valley Genealogy Society, National Farmers Union, National Farmers Organization, and several service and supply cooperatives. Methodist. Third term.
