M.A., State University of Iowa 1966. Post-graduate studies summer 1972, University of South Dakota. American Government and History teacher (1959-1974). Life insurance underwriter, Bankers Life of Nebraska since summer 1974. Married Emily J. Langstraat, Oskaloosa, 1951. Children: Wendell, Cyndi (Mrs. Dennis De Young), Kristy. Served during Korean War, reserves eight years. Pella City Councilman 1970-1975. Member Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Pella. Represented Pella on the Central Iowa Regional Planning Commission and Central Iowa Regional Association of Local Governments 1972-1975, vice-chairman, 1974. First term.
