Jefferson District 55 Democrat Born Sept. 13, 1926 near Jefferson, Iowa, son of Elver and Anna Lynch Perkins. Graduated Jefferson High School 1942. Served in U.S. Navy in World War II. Received B.S., business and public administration, University of Missouri 1948. Married Eileen M. Claussen, Fort Dodge, 1949. Children: David, Dan, Tim, Mary Ellen, Jane. Self-employed in grain and livestock production. Former president of Greene County Historical Society. Member American Legion, Elks, and Farmers Union. Served two terms on Jefferson Community School District Board of Education. Former director of Central Iowa Farm Business Association and CYO youth advisor. Member, St. Joseph's Catholic Church. First term.
