Received B.A. in public administration, and law degree from the University of Iowa. Formerly an assistant attorney general. Now in private practice. Served on school board, community action organization and first president of association for handicapped. Member of various bar associations and Masonic organizations, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Farm Bureau, Junior Achievement, Izaak Walton, legislative member of Iowa Energy Policy Council 1974. Methodist. Married; three children. Second term.
