Graduated Dow City Consolidated High School 1953; Graceland Junior College, Omaha University. Married Claudine Turner, Feb. 14, 1958. Children: Jim Jr., Chris, Jon. Member Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Elks, Lakeshore Country Club, local, state and national Independent Insurance Agents Association. Insurance representative for Allstate Insurance Company of Council Bluffs, five years. Started own insurance agency, 1965. Three years in Nebraska National Guard and in Air Force Reserve. President Council Bluffs Jaycees 1963. Nominated as one of Council Bluffs' Outstanding Young Men. Served as National Director United States Jaycees 1964. Justice of the Peace, Lewis Township 1965-1967. Second term.
