Daughter, Cynthia Kay. In farming and livestock operation. Member Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, Elks, Lions, Izaak Walton League, and Farm Bureau. Formerly chairman YMCA Youth in Government of Iowa; Boy Scouts District Executive Council, Flying Farmers, and Keokuk County School Board. Chairman House Appropriations and Legislative Fiscal Committees, Iowa Legislative Council, Iowa State Crime Commission, Governor's Com. on Employment of the Handicapped, Governor's Com. on Terrace Hill, and National Com. support of public schools.
