North Liberty District 25 Democrat Born in Danville, Ill., April 12, 1949, son of Roy and Lorrea Patchett. Attended Brocton, Ill., Grade School. Graduated Muscatine High School 1967. Attended Eastern Iowa Community College, Muscatine 1967-69. B.A. in political science and history University of Iowa 1972. Married Nancy Kohrt, Rock Rapids, 1971. Active in local and state politics since 1964, including service on State Executive Board of Iowa Young Democrats as Teen Dem Coordinator and First District Committeeman 1966-69. Chairman Iowa Young Democrats for Robert Kennedy 1968. Broadcast newsman 1967-69 and 1970-71. Protestant, Christian Church. Member University of Iowa Alumni Assn., Common Cause, Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club, Civil Liberties Union, Friends of Educational Television, and Iowa Historical Society. Full-time legislator. First term in Iowa House.
