Graduated University of Northern Iowa with B.A. degree 1955 and M.A. degree in 1956. Additional work towards Ph.D. degree in political science at University of Iowa. Taught political science at the following institutions: Drake University Community College, the now defunct Charles City College, and Hawkeye Institution of Technology. Farmer. Married Barbara Ann Speicher. Five children: Lee, Wendy, Robin Lynn, Michelle Marie, and Jay Charles. Member Farm Bureau, state and county historical societies, Pi Gamma Mu, Kappa Delta Pi, Masonic Lodge. Baptist. Serving 8th term.
