Graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., with a B.S. in 1961. Married Mary Lou Hawkinson in St. Peter, Minn., June 10, 1962. Children: Mark, Sara, Cary, Maret. Lutheran. Served in Navy. Insurance Agent. Member of Kiwanis, Jaycees, Elks, Buena Vista Co. Young Republican, and Iowa Young Republicans. Recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. Listed in Who's Who in Government. A member of the Legislative Council and also the National Legislative Conference Intergovernmental Relations Committee. Serving third term.
