Graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, 1966, with BA in political science. Married Suzanne Diers of Des Moines, July 15, 1967. Twin daughters, Amy and Lisa, born May 25, 1969. Advertising specialist with $alescount, Inc. Former fifth-grade teacher Nativity Elementary Schools, 1967-1969. Field Underwriter New York Life Ins. Co., 1967. Manager Safety Equipment Leasing Co., 1966-1967. Former National Committeeman Iowa Young Democrats. Former State Representative from Dubuque serving two terms in the Iowa House. Presently serving first term in the Iowa Senate.
