Clinton District 78 Republican Born at Washington Feb. 4, 1937, son of Robert M. and Helen L. Oakley. Graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines. Received B.A. degree in public administration, and law degree from the University of Iowa. Was an assistant attorney general and now in private practice and an adult education instructor. Served on school board, community action organization and first president of association for handicapped. Member of various bar associations and Masonic organizations, PTA, Rotary, Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Farm Bureau and Junior Achievement. Held numerous Republican posts. Methodist. Married; three children. First term in Iowa House.
