Newton Democrat 35th Senatorial District Born near Newton, Iowa, Oct. 24, 1913, son of George R. Hill and Minnie Rees Hill. Graduated Newton High School, 1931; B.S., Iowa State University, 1937; postgraduate work, University of Illinois, 1941. Fraternities, Alpha Zeta, Sigma Upsilon. Married Ruth Ryburn, of Heyworth, Ill., Nov. 27, 1946. Five children: David, Robert, Patricia, Kathleen and John. Member, United Presbyterian Church, U.S.D.A. Farm Security Administration, supervisor, 1938-40; high school instructor, vocational agriculture, Strawberry Point, Iowa, 1941-42, College Springs and Coin, Iowa, 1946-49. Farm, Newton, Iowa, since 1950. World War II, U.S. Marine Corps; participated in battles for Roi Namur, Saipan, Tinian, Iwo Jima.
