Attended Emmetsburg Community College, Emmetsburg, and Wayne State Teachers College, Wayne, Nebr. Married Donna Hughes of Mallard 1964. Two children: Nancy and Scott. Partner in Hughes, Brennan & Wirtz Insurance & Real Estate in Emmetsburg. Charter member Emmetsburg Kiwanis Club, past director Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce, member Life Underwriters, Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa, Mutual Agents of Iowa. Member St. Paul Lutheran Church. First term.
