B.A., 1943, State University of Iowa. Majored in Political Science. Two and one-half years in U.S.N.R. as Lieutenant in World War II, Pacific Theatre. Single. Member Methodist Church Lay Speaker, American Legion, Farm Bureau, Lions, Elks and Masons. President Volunteer Firemen, Henderson Town Council 1950-54 and 1965-67; state representative from Mills County 1954-56, state representative from Fremont-Mills Counties 1967-68, 1969-70, state representative from Mills-Montgomery-Page Counties 1971-72. Speaker of the House 63rd and 64th General Assemblies. State Senator Mills-Montgomery Counties 1956-60, and past county Legion commander. Director Iowa Feed and Grain Association, 1960-63.
