Attended George Washington University and Iowa State University. Married Jan. 3, 1945; wife Anna. Children: Craig, Rick, Steve. Member and elder Central Christian Church, past president of: Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson Jaycees, Iowa Bowling Proprietors Association, and Iowa Jaycees; past National Vice-President U. S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. Director Industrial Development Commission; member American Legion, V.F.W., I.O.O.F., Elks. Served as county organizational chairman Republican Central Committee, city councilman, fund chairman for Red Cross, project chairman Cancer Society, district chairman Heart Fund Association. Served in U.S. Navy World War II, Philippines. Selected by Governor for Iowa Crime Commission. First session ranking member State Government Committee, second session ranking member Iowa Development Committee.
