Married Luella Hensch (deceased) June 14, 1927. Father of: Merlyn Kruse, 37, married, farm partner with father; and Lorna, 40, married to William Saupe, PHD in extension division of University of Wisconsin at Madison. Married Sept. 15, 1957, to Mrs. Margaret Gourley. Stepchildren are Peggy Stagilino, San Pedro, Calif.; and John Gourley, lawyer in office of general counsel, Hormel Packing Co., Austin, Minn. Eleven grandchildren. Member St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, Farm Bureau, Farmers Mutual Insurance Assn. of O'Brien County, Kiwanis Club, UCT, Chamber of Commerce, Floyd Valley Watershed Association (secretary and board director). Past president American Milking Shorthorn Society, Tamworth Swine Association, charter member Northwest Iowa Farm Business Association. Sergeant in Iowa State Guard. Four years service.
