Attended elementary and high schools in Florida and Illinois, 1962; graduated from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, in 1966 with a degree in political science. Married Suzanne L. Diers, July 15, 1967, St. Anthony's Church, Des Moines. Teacher of 5th grade since 1967 in the Navtivity Elementary School. Manager of Safety Equipment Leasing Company (Subsidiary of Frank Hardie Adv.) June 1966-January 1967; Field Underwriter New York Life Ins. Co., August 1967. Member of Young Democrats Club of Iowa; Knights of Columbus; JFK Council 5513; Dubuque Jaycees; Dubuque Evening Optimist Club; and of board of directors of Optimist Club. Past national committeeman of Iowa Young Democrats and state representative Dubuque County Sub-District No. 2. Serving first term.
