Member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Elks; Elks Country Club; Moose; Jaycees; Kiwanis; local, state, and national Independent Insurance Agents Assn. Worked for Northern Natural Gas 2 years. Insurance Representative for Allstate Insurance Company of Council Bluffs 5 years. Started own insurance agency 1965. Three years in Nebraska National Guard and 3 years in Air Force Reserve. President of Council Bluffs Jaycees in 1963. Nominated as one of Council Bluffs' Outstanding Young Men. Served as National Director United States Jaycees 1964. Active in County and State Tuberculosis Assn., served on United Fund Budget Panel and past president of Lewis Central High School P. T. A. Justice of the Peace, Lewis Township, from 1965 to 1967. Serving first term in Senate.
