Moved to present farm home near Thornburg in Keokuk County in 1920. Graduate of Thornburg High School. Married Ethel Cowan of What Cheer, Iowa. Father of one daughter, Cynthia Kay. In farm and livestock operation, formerly in hardware and implement business. Member Methodist Church, Budget Financial Control Comm., Governors Comm. for the employment of the Handicapped. National Comm. for the support of public schools, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, Elks, Lions, Izaak Walton League, Flying Farmers (charter member), and Farm Bureau. State Chairman for the YMCA Youth in Government. Boy Scouts District Executive Council and Countv Finance Chairman. Former member of Keokuk County School Board and chairman for 10 years. Served in 58th, 59th, 60th, 60th extra, 61st. 62nd, and 63rd session of General Assembly.
