B.A. degree, 1952, Luther College. Occupational forces in Italy, 1946-47, and active duty reserves at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., 1950-51. Married Adeline D. Lovstuen in 1950, and they have two children, Steven Paul and Karen Louise. Member of Lutheran Church and church officer for 8 years. Member of Farm Bureau and Northeast Farm Business Association; School Board director of Decorah Community Schools: president and voting delegate of Winneshiek County Farm Bureau; director of Northeast Farm Service Company of Allamakee and Winneshiek Counties. Dairy farmer. Elected to first term.
