Served in U.S. Army, Corps of Engineers, discharged honorably, 1963, rank of sergeant. Married Barbara M. Klein, 1960. They have one daughter, Barbara Hope. Member of Methodist Church, Lions and Masonic Lodge. Planner-Coordinator, Minneapolis-Honeywell, Minneapolis Minn. 1963-64; Deluxe Products Corporation, Lake Mills, Iowa, 1964-67, Senior Planning Analyst. Elected to first term.
