Graduated Griswold High School; B.A. Iowa State Teachers College, 1950; M.A. State University of Iowa, 1953. Taught Massena High School and speech therapist at University Hospital School for Handicapped Children. Married June 7, 1952 to Dwight Emerson Conklin, M.D. Children Beth Ann 12, Ralph (Bill) 10, Robert 9, Barbara 7, and James 5. Presbyterian, various organizations including AAUW, DAR, YWCA Board, Medical Auxiliary, adult leader of Girl and Cub Scouts and CAR. Serving first term.
