Elkader Democrat 38th Senatorial District Clayton and Allamakee Counties. Born Aug. 4, 1911, at Elkader, Iowa. Owns and operates a dairy farm and has an insurance and real estate business. Graduated from Elkader High School in 1929. Married Lola Hanson at Elgin, Iowa, in 1934. President of the Iowa Dairy Products Association, Ames, Iowa. Director on the executive committee of National Milk Producers Federation, Washington, D.C. President of Elkader Cooperative Co. and a director of the Central Dairy Co-op Creamery at St. Olaf, Iowa. Served for six years as Clayton County Democratic chairman. Member of the Farm Bureau, Lions, Rotary and Masonic Lodge and is a member and past Trustee of Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader. Fourth session in general assembly.
