Guthrie Center Guthrie County Republican. Born in Mercer County, Illinois, Oct. 7, 1894, son of James I. and Martha L. Robinson. Moved to Guthrie County in 1902. Attended rural schools, graduated from Guthrie County High School; extension work, Iowa State University. World War I Veteran (88th Division). Married Bessie L. Miller Dec. 11, 1920. Parents of seven children: Donald J., Robert E., Marjorie J. Slaybaugh, Paul V., Mary E. Joyce, Betty J. Parks, and Patricia A. Brubaker. Thirteen grandchildren. Sons in World War II and Korean Conflict. Farming 1921-1946; specialty Purebred Durocs. Active in church, fraternal and civic organizations. Member Methodist Church, 32nd degree Mason, Za-Ga-Zig Temple, American Legion, Veterans of World War I, Inc., I.O.O.F., O.E.S., Rebekahs, Lions, Izaak Walton, Farm Bureau. Present interests: justice of the peace, insurance. Served in 57th, 58th and 59th General Assemblies.
