Graduated from Elkader High School in 1929. President of Elkader Co-op Feed Company, President of Clayton County Telephone Company, President of Volga Co-op Creamery Company and President of Iowa Creameries, Ames, Iowa. Is a director on the board of the National Milk Producers Federation, Washington, D. C. Served for six years as Clayton County Democratic chairman. Married Lola Hanson at Elgin, Iowa, 1934. Member of Farm Bureau and Masonic Lodge and is a member and past trustee of the Peace Evangelical Church at Elkader. First term in General Assembly.
