Williams Republican 37th Senatorial District Hamilton, Hardin and Wright Counties. Born on a farm in Hamilton county, June 5, 1912, son of Martin and Bertha Walker. Attended public school at Williams, Iowa, Ellsworth Junior College, Iowa Falls, Iowa, American Institute of Business, Des Moines, and Grinnell College. Formerly employed by J.C. Penney Company, Inc., in several states. Actively engaged in farming and banking interests. Married Violet Michaels. Father of three children, John A. Walker II, Nancy Louise, and Steven. Associated with the Lutheran church, O.E.S., Masons, Odd Fellows, and numerous other organizations. Served four terms as a member of the House of Representatives, and now serving his third session in the Senate.
