Davenport Republican 21st Senatorial District Scott County. Born in Davenport, Iowa, August 21, 1925, son of Walter and Flora Schroeder. Educated in the public schools of Davenport, and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport. A graduate of the law school at Drake University. Practices law as a partner in the firm of Filseth and Schroeder. Married and the father of two children, Sandra and Walter. Served in the U.S. Navy Air Forces for three and one-half years. Member of the Masonic lodge, Zerapath Consistory, Kaaba Shrine, Davenport Junior Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, American Legion, and a member of the Lutheran church. Was elected to the House of Representatives in 1950. Served two terms in that body before moving to the Senate. Now serving third session in the Senate. Majority leader of Senate.
