Father of two children, Stephen 10, and Ann 6. President of the United Auto Workers A.F.L.-C.I.O. local No. 74 and vice-president Ottumwa Labor Council. Served 3 years with Army air force in the Asiatic-Pacific during World War II. Member of the Animal Relief League and board of directors of the Y.M.C.A. Twice has headed the Wapello county march of dimes campaign and is a past member of the Ottumwa Community Chest board of directors. Member of First Lutheran church, Masonic and Eagles lodges. Serving first term.
