Strawberry Point Democrat 36th Senatorial District Clayton County. Born at Oelwein, Iowa, May 17, 1914. Graduated from Sacred Heart grade and high schools, Oelwein, Iowa. Attended Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, 1932-36 B.A. degree. Post graduate work at the Catholic University, Washington, D. C. 1936-37. Married to Kathleen Cassidy 1939, two daughters Maureen and Ellen. Hotel owner and newspaper publisher and editor. Member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Strawberry Point. Member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degrees. Serving first term in the Senate.
