Married Violet Karchner, April 23, 1921. Two children, Jeanne Bailey, 33, mother of three, Mission, Kansas; 1st Lieut. James R., 25, on duty 85th Infantry Regiment, Bamberg, Germany and second year law student, S.U.I., married, one son. Served 33 years U.S. postal service, two years World War II, Field Director American National Red Cross, two years Social Service, one of which on Staff, Glenwood State School. Term as Union county Auditor. Fund drive chairman Scouts, cancer, polio, Red Cross. Member Union Lutheran Church, O.E.S., White Shrine, Scottish Rite, Eagles, Kiwanis, Afton Business Club, Lions, Legion, V.F.W. Serving first term.
