Two years in 38th Cyclone Artillery Division and 15 years active Reserve. Cromwell Indiana high school graduate. Attended Wittenberg College, Springfield, Ohio. Married Violet Karchner, April 23, 1921. Two children, Jeanne M. Bailey, 35, mother of three, Overland Park, Kansas; James R., 27, senior law student, S.U.I., married, one son. Served 33 years in U.S. Postal Service, two years World War II, Field Director, American National Red Cross, two years Social Service, one of which on staff, Glenwood State School. Term as Union County Auditor. Fund drive chairman Scouts, Cancer, Polio, Red Cross. Member Methodist church, O.E.S., White Shrine, Scottish Rite, Masonic Order, Eagles, Kiwanis, Afton Business Club, Lions, Legion, V.F.W. Serving second term.
