Three children, Larry, sophomore at Bloomfield high school, Lynn and Robert, West Grove grade school. Attended public schools in Lamoni, Iowa, and Graceland College at Lamoni. B.S. degree in Ag. Econ. from Iowa State College in 1938. Lt. (jg) United States navy in World War II. Member of the Reorganized church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, American Legion, N.F.O., Elks, West Grove school board and 4-H leader. Worked in Hampton, Indianola, Ames, Centerville, Iowa, and Indianapolis, Indiana, as an employee of the U.S.D.A. Farmers Home Administration from 1938 to 1952. Now resides on a farm in Davis county and raises registered Aberdeen Angus cattle. Serving first term in the Senate.
