Educated in the rural schools of Chickasaw county and graduated from the New Hampton public high school in 1946. Engaged in farming with his father. Has one brother, Thomas G. McCracken of Decatur, Illinois. Member of the Methodist church, Masonic lodge and Cedar Rapids Consistory. Serving first term.
