Nelson of Grinnell in 1920. Moved to Newton in 1925. Mr. Nelson is assistant secretary of the Maytag Company. Family consists of two children: James, professor of economics, Amherst College, and Phyllis, professor of history at Ball State Teachers' College. Member of Congregational church, Newton Woman's Club, League of Women Voters, Eastern Star, White Shrine, P.E.O. and Delta Kappa Gamma. Past president of League of Women Voters of Iowa. Presiding officer at opening session of the House, 56th G.A. Serving third term.
