Member of Kaaba Temple and Zarephath consistory of Davenport, Iowa; Masonic lodge at Mystic, Iowa; Ottumwa Shrine club; Lions club; and Fraternal Order of Former president of Mystic independent board of education, and present member or Appanoose county board of education. Engaged in appliance, heating, and L. P. gas businesses in Mystic and Centerville. Member of Mystic Methodist church. Former chairman of Young Republican organization of Appanoose county. Serving fourth session in the state legislature.
