Educated in the public schools of Davenport, and attended St. Ambrose college in Davenport. A graduate of the law school at Drake University. Practices law as a partner in the firm of Filseth and Schroeder. Married and the father of two children, Sandra and Walter. Served in the U. S. Navy Air Forces for three and one-half years. Member of the Masonic lodge, Zerapath Consistory, Kaaba Shrine, Davenport Junior Chamber of Commerce, Elks, Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, American Legion and a member of the Lutheran church. Serving first term as Senator, having served two terms as Representative.
