Castana Monona County Republican Born in Monona County, Iowa, July 7, 1904. Fourth of five children of Lewis and Maggie Hadden. Educated in Monona county schools. Studied two years of pre-law at Morningside College in Sioux City. Graduated with an LL.B. degree from the University of South Dakota. Married Mariam Carritt of Soldier, Iowa, in 1931. Father of three children, Rose 19, Donald 17, and Ruth 14, all living at home. Started farming on his parents' home farm near Castana in 1929 and since has also purchased the adjoining farm. Actively engaged in livestock raising, specializing in beef. Attends the Lutheran church, secretary and treasurer of Farmers Co-op Oil Company and member of Farm Bureau. Serving first term.
