Castana Monona County Republican Born in Monona county, Iowa, July 7, 1904. Fourth of five children of Lewis and Maggie Hadden. Educated in Monona county schools. Studied two years of pre-law at Morningside college in Sioux City. Graduated with an LL.B. degree from the University of South Dakota. Married Mariam Carritt of Soldier, Iowa, in 1931. Father of three children, Rose DuVal 21, Don 19, and Ruth 16. Started farming on his parents' home farm near Castana in 1929 and since has purchased the adjoining farm. Actively engaged in livestock raising, specializing in beef. Member of the Soldier Lutheran church. Serving second term.
