Educated in public schools of Adams county. Attended Elliott's Business college at Burlington, Iowa. In April, 1899, was married to Letha A. Gordon. Father of one son and two daughters. Operates a farm near Corning, active in raising and importing Percheron horses since 1882. Member of Masons and Eastern Star with 50 year certificates. Served as Representative in 52nd General Assembly. Serving first term in the Senate.
