Sigourney Republican 12th Senatorial District Keokuk and Poweshiek Counties. Born Oberlin, Kansas, son of James and Mary (Ragan) Vittetoe. Moved to Sigourney, Iowa, with parents in 1897. Graduated from Sigourney high school and National Institute of Pharmacy. Taught in rural schools. Owns and operates own drug store for past thirty-four years. Director of Keokuk County Bank. Member of Sigourney board of education, fifteen years, president eleven years. Member of Keokuk county board of education. Member of Sigourney Chamber of Commerce. Member of Keokuk Farm Bureau. Past president and secretary of the Sigourney Lions club. Chairman of Keokuk County Civilian Defense. Engaged in farming. Member of Christian church, Mason, Shrine and I.O.O.F. Married to Dolly Willcockson of Sigourney, Iowa. Two children, Jeanette, now Mrs. Boyd Paulson of Fremont, Nebr., and Luke Edwin, after 42 months service of which 32 were in the Pacific area, is now associated with his father at Sigourney. Serving second term, third session.
