Admitted to practice of law in Iowa courts in 1939. Became partner of George E. Allen, his father, at Onawa, Iowa, August 1, 1939. President Monona County Young Democrats, National Young Democratic Committee from Iowa, member Delta Chi and Phi Delta Phi fraternities, American Bar Association. First term in legislature.
