HONORABLE A. H. BAUMHOVER
MR. SPEAKER: Your committee, appointed to prepare resolutions commemorative of the life, character and public services of the late Honorable A. H. Baumhover, of Carroll county, Iowa, begs leave to submit the following report:
A. H. Baumhover was born on a farm near Carroll, Carroll county, Iowa, October 5, 1893. He grew up at the farm home, attended the rural schools, the high school in Carroll, and then became engaged in farming. In June, 1917, Mr. Baumhover was united in marriage with Miss Josephine Kanne, who with seven children, Denis, Alfred, Leola, Margaret, Ruth, Richard and Rita mourn the death of their beloved husband and father.
In 1934, Mr. Baumhover was elected to represent Carroll county in the state legislature, and served in the Forty-sixth, Forty-sixth Extra, and the Forty-seventh sessions of the General Assembly.
Mr. Baumhover took an active interest in community affairs. He was president of the Carroll County Farm Bureau for several years and at the time of his death he was secretary of the warehouse board and corn sealing committee. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and of the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. He was at all times a perfect gentleman, genial, kindhearted, and devoted to his family and friends.
Therefore, Be It Resolved, That in the passing of the Honorable A. H. Baumhover the state has lost a valuable and honored citizen, and the House would tender by this resolution its sincere sympathy to the surviving members of his family in their sorrow, and
Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the House Journal, and that the Chief Clerk be instructed to send an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
