Has served as director of Marshalltown Cooperative Shipping Association; director and vice president of the Marshall County Farm Bureau; committeeman for the A.A.A.; and secretary and treasurer of the Pleasant Hill school board. Unmarried. Member of the First Methodist church and the Gideons. Farmer and seedsman. Elected to the Iowa legislature in 1936. A republican.
