Has served as director of Marshalltown Cooperative Shipping Association; director and vice president of the Marshall County Farm Bureau; committeeman for the A.A.A.; and secretary and treasurer of the Pleasant Hill school board. Married in June, 1938, to Ruth M. Blanchard, Albion, Iowa. Member of the Friends church and the Gideons. Farmer and seedsman. Elected to the Iowa legislature in 1936 and re-elected in 1938.
