He was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives from Hamilton County and served in the Forty-sixth, Forty-sixth Extra, and Forty-seventh sessions of the General Assembly. In the course of his duties, during these three successfive terms, he was placed in positions of responsibility.

He was preceded in death by his wife, who died April 3, 1956; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Verna) Hunter in 1933; his parents; one brother, and a sister, who died in infancy. He was also preceded in death by several half brothers and half sisters.

Mr. George W. Groves’ final call came on September 13, 1958, when he was more than 85 years of age.

Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Fiftyeighth General Assembly of Iowa: That in the passing of the Honorable George W.
