Democratic representative from Wapello county, born near Eddyville, Iowa, May 17th, 1895. Finished school at seventeen and took up office work four years. Then entered the Lewis Institute, Chicago, and after two years at college enlisted in the United States army. During the World War served more than a year in France where he was commissioned lieutenant of infantry. Engaged in the hardware business and is now president of Ernest H. Fabritz, Inc., with two stores at Ottumwa, Iowa. Served as commander O. B. Nelson post American Legion, as president of the Iowa implement dealers association, and as director of Ottumwa chamber of commerce. Is a director of the Iowa retail hardware dealers' association. Married and has four children. A Catholic, member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society.
