Representative from Wapello county, born near Eddyville, Iowa, May 17, 1895. Finished school at seventeen and took up office work four years and then entered the Lewis Institute, Chicago, and after two years at college enlisted in the United States army. During the World War served more than a year in France, where he was commissioned lieutenant of infantry. He is engaged in the hardware business and is now president of Fabritz Hardware Stores, Inc., with stores at Ottumwa and Oskaloosa, Iowa. He has been commander of the O.B. Nelson Post, American Legion, and president of the Iowa Implement Dealers Association, and is vice-president of the Iowa Retail Hardware Association and director of the Ottumwa chamber of commerce. Married and has four children. A Catholic, member of the Knights of Columbus, of B.P.O.E., and the Holy Name Society. Served in the forty-fourth general assembly and re-elected to the forty-fifth. A democrat.
